The Mercedes-Benz SL-Class is a series of sports and luxury cars produced by the German car manufacturer Mercedes Benz and, starting from the eighth generation, by the Mercedes-Amg sports department In fact, the acronym SL derives from the initials of the words Sport and Leicht, which in German mean Sportiness and Lightness.

In fact, few cars, or perhaps no others, have aged so well: thanks to the intuition of the "master" Bruno Sacco, of whose career this car is to be considered the absolute masterpiece; we believe it can even be said that it has not aged at all since it seems to us much more current and elegant than the R230 that replaced it.

An almost perfect car, even by today's standards. After the name change in 1993 which moved the abbreviation SL from behind to in front of the reference to engine size, a first restyling took place on the occasion of the 1995 Frankfurt Motor Show: six bars instead of seven, transparent taillights white instead of orange and, above all, uniform coloring of the bodywork; farewell, therefore, to the characteristic two-tone glossy/satin tone-on-tone scheme that had characterized the first version so much.
